My last trimmer finally wore out after 10+ years and while it worked well and owed me nothing, I decided to try something a little more modern and bought the Brio V2. I love the fact that it's so quiet, that the handle is comfortable and it's super simple to operate. The only thing I don't care for is the way the guards attach. I usually have to fool around with each one a little bit before I actually get it secured on the little nubs that hold it in place. Once on it's great, but to me it seems like a clunky process. My beard is longer in front and fades back, so a trim is usually 2 guard changes. Other than that minor issue so far this has been a great experience.
I purchased this as a replacement to my over 5 year old Brio trimmer that has served me well and always given me a great trim. I expected similar or better performance but sadly the performance was worse.
Ultimately, with the trimmer at max rpms it still not only feels under powered but is not strong enough to cleanly give a consistent trim. Multiple passes are required and any kind of delicate trimming is impossible to achieve. For the price this does not feel premium and given the long delivery time and customs I paid this does not feel like a worthy investment for Canadian purchasers.
Hello, Andre! Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry to hear that the V2 is letting you down! The motor, RPM, and blades are identical from V1 to V2, so there must be something else going wrong here. It looks like we're already in communication with you about this, I hope we're able to find a mutually beneficial resolution soon.
I used the original beardscape for like… 12 years? It still works wicked, but I wanted another to keep in a different bathroom. The battery on the original still blows my mind, I can shave a few times a week for almost a full year without needing to recharge it!
This one seems even better, more comfortable to hold, lighter, and seems to shave a little closer.

No, I didn’t buy anything directly from Brio. But I did get an amazing gift from a friend. A while back, I guess my friend overheard me talking about wanting something better than those pricey trimmers that claim to last for years but never actually do.
When the package showed up at my door, I honestly hesitated to open it because I thought it’d be just another useless gadget like the ones I’d tried before.
I was pleasantly surprised. The trimmer, the adjustable guards, and the blades were all spot on. I made a quick adjustment before using it, and wow, I was genuinely impressed.
The battery life is something I’ve never seen in a trimmer before. Four hours of charge could last up to six months, and if you keep it on low RPM, it could run for an entire year or more. That’s what made me check out the Brio4Life website to see what else they offer.
My only wish now is that they’d sell electric toothbrushes and ship to Canada. I’d happily spend my money on one.
I was somewhat sceptical even having watched one of BeardTube’s reviews on it a couple years ago. My old trimmer finally gave up the ghost recently so I knew I needed a replacement. I went back to BeardTube and watched his most recent review of several trimmers and again he gave really high marks for this trimmer. So I pulled the trigger and ordered one directly from Brio.
It arrived at my home in Canada very quickly, less than a week I think. Unfortunately customs had their hands on it so they charged me handling and tax on it but the total cost was still less than half of what I could buy it from a big box store in my city.
I’ve only used it once so far. However, I’m very impressed with what it did in that one session. I’m confident that this will be a trimmer that will last me as long or longer than my old trimmer.
